Megan recently shared this photo session that Denise of Boonie Sunshine Photography (she travels between Nashville, TN, and Kansas City, MO) shot session of two-week-old Maximilian. Megan’s husband and Denise are cousins, so the session was part of a baby shower gift. I don’t know about you, but this mustache is pretty much slaying me.

I was going through the photos in the Flickr pool for next week’s Montage when BOOM: my eyes landed on this delightful little mini-feast of beauty and love. There are so many things to discuss: how the mom is so lively and has amazing dreads, how the three kidlets are so stylin’ I can’t handle it, and how the dad definitely has a mild Johnny Depp thing going on.

Alan and Brian have been married for years and have always dreamed of starting a family. They took matters into their own hands and found a surrogate in India. They were more than pleasantly surprised when they learned that she was pregnant with twins. The pair has recently returned to New York City from India with their son and daughter in tow — and now the family is complete.

One of the things that a lot of photographers are doing today that I absolutely LOVE is involving some kind of narrative with their photo sessions. Take this series of shots from Briana Moore Photography for example — first, you’re chillin’ at the park. You have your two kiddos and baby in tow, just hanging out and having a good time. And then you breezily transition over a set of stairs and hang by an incredible brick wall, where you proceed to absolutely OWN your family photo session.
