How to throw a Solstice Party, Montaninavian style

My love of the Winter Solstice has nothing to do with the New Agey stuff and everything to do with the fact that I am a badass Montanan of Scandinavian heritage. And I have been getting my Yule on since 1995. Here is my guide for throwing a party for this kind of Solstice. I’ve grouped party ideas by age, but you can borrow from any category.

Non-sucky, non-overdone, holiday music

Nekkid Lady Party: My tips on how to host a clothing swap

About 8 years ago I moved from Portland to Seattle and realized I had way. Too. Much. Crap. I thought to myself, “Self, you can either donate to Goodwill or you can see if your friends want to pick through your stuff.”

Fuck carving pumpkins, this year it’s all about making your own zombies for Halloween! Ooh, or maybe you could host a “make your own zombie” party a la the make your own moster party? Either way this just seems all kinds of undead…
