Tina Fey talks about Offbeat Home & Life on Late Night with Seth Meyers!

This is big news. Maybe even the biggest news in my entire life. Okay, maybe in Offbeat Home & Life’s entire life. Move over that time Pee-wee Herman liked our Banana Dogs. Here comes our news: Tina Fucking Fey reads Offbeat Home & Life! And then talked about it on TV! With Seth Meyers!

Tina Fey and Seth Myers talk about Offbeat Home

HOLYFUCKWHATNOW?

We got an email last night from an eagle-eyed (eared?) Homie, Nicole, with the subject line: “Tina Fey + Offbeat Home & Life on Seth Meyers WTF??”. Her message: “OK, I can offer zero context because I channel flipped to it literally about a second before the graphic disappeared, but Tina Fey was just cracking jokes on Seth Meyer (about being too into cupcake recipes? using the internet to avoid intimacy with her husband? or something?) against an Offbeat Home & Life graphic.”

By this morning, the clip was released. And yes, Tina Fey has read and followed along to our post about how to make ice cream cone cupcakes.

Watch and enjoy:

Okay, whatever Tina, I forgive you for thinking that our site is “mom stuff,” because you’re one of my heroes. And I’ll forgive you for making fun of our posts about sexuality (or the lack thereof), and not realizing how amazing our site is because of them, because you’ve fought so hard for feminism.

But mostly I forgive you, because I truly want to believe that I made Tina Fey laugh with my choice of amazing illustrating photos on these posts…

Much like how Tina makes her kid’s birthday parties about herself, I am going to make this news about myself: Tina Fey thinks I’m hilarious. That should be the over-all positive take-away on this story. I think we can all agree on that.

Comments on Tina Fey talks about Offbeat Home & Life on Late Night with Seth Meyers!

  1. Whoa! That is pretty awesome and I also choose to believe while she made a joke about the juxtaposition of the posts, she went on to read them all and found them hilarious and insightful.

In fact, I choose to believe she put OBH in her feedly and is reading this RIGHT NOW.

  2. Tina, darling, the Outbrain algorithm is very smart and gives you what you need. I, for example, get recommended posts about cleaning up cat hair and soundproofing.

(Mannnnn, if she had to get posts about asexuality, I secretly wish it had been MINE.)

    • MICH I TOTALLY THOUGHT OF YOU! The best part is how (as you know!) the photos on that post are totally just, like, point ‘n’ shoot crap-cam shots.
There’s no fancy Pinterest styling, shallow depth of field, scattered flower petals, and designer kitchen utensils artfully splayed in the background… it’s just basic and real and HAAAA TINA FEY LOVED IT.

      High fucking five. 🙂

  3. I have no idea who Tina Fey or Seth Meyers are (maybe because I’m British, probably because I’m only vaguely aware of actual TV as a thing my TV could probably do when it’s not showing Game of Thrones or video games).

In spite of that I still think this is awesome! Especially because I think it’s virtually certain someone saw the awesome pictures and was googling the site before she even finished talking. I bet you get a ton of new readers from this!

    • I’m actually impressed that you don’t know who Tina Fey is… maybe she’s not as hugely famous in the UK?

As for getting new readers, it’s weird: over the years, the Offbeat Empire sites have been mentioned on all sorts of national TV shows (Today Show, CNN, etc) and it almost never translates into new readers. Especially when we’re not mentioned by name (she never said “So I was on OFFBEAT HOME DOT COM”), it’s just a random funny thing on the internet that someone mentioned in a joke… very few people are like, “Wait, freeze that frame — what website is this? I should read it!”

      It’s interesting, right?

  4. OHHHHH SHIT!!!!
    THIS IS EPIC!
I’m a huge Tina Fey fangirl so my takeaway is “Tina Fey looked at website where I once posted so SHE MIGHT HAVE READ MY POST”.
I’m totally expecting an email from her now.
