Holiday decor that doesn't take up too much space

The holidays are fast approaching. Both my husband and I come from families who love the holidays, so we both are super excited to have our own place to holiday-ify and celebrate together. However, the problem is we have NO room to store any decorations post-holidays. How do the Homies who live in small spaces decorate their homes without generating the tubs of decor to store away later?

Awesome-looking, space-saving tables for small space hosting

My husband and I recently downsized to a pretty amazing 875-square-foot apartment, and because of that we sold a lot of our furniture (including the kitchen table). So with the holidays coming up, I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for awesome-looking, space-saving tables that could easily be folded up once the guests are gone?

Easy-cheesy pumpkin dip

Since it's that time of year when squash is cheap and plentiful, I picked up a kabocha squash (a.k.a. Japanese pumpkin) and decided to make something with it for Thanksgiving dinner. But I don't like pumpkin pie or any other vegetable-as-dessert type things, so I figured I'd make something savoury. Anything with cheese tends to be a winner, and with the stripe-y pumpkin-bowl the dip is baked in, you can gain bonus points for fancy-ass presentation.

Midnight Thanksgiving: Our Non-Traditional Family Tradition

My first job in Portland was overnight stocking for a big box retailer. It wasn't long before I started meeting more transplants like me, who couldn't get the time off to fly home for the holidays, or just plain had nowhere to go. I wanted to invite everyone over, but there was also the nagging fact that while we did get Thanksgiving Day off, most of us would have to be at work before sunrise the day after Thanksgiving. Since we were all night owls anyhow, I offered to have everyone over on the Wednesday night before the holiday. And so the idea of Midnight Thanksgiving was born.
