Unlike the last home tour, this house looks very normal-looking from the outside. You would never know of the kalaidascope of color and decor that this home contains within it’s unassuming brick facade. The real estate listing describes this Australian home as, “A wonderland of colour, this torrens titled character maisonette is filled with a whole lot of charm!”
You say “whole lot of charm” I say “whole lot of pictures of cats” …and dolls, and hanging baskets full of fake flowers. I could literally stare at these photos for hours, swimming in the swirls of color and mind-boggling collection displays…
Thanks to Offbeat Homie di for alerting me to the fact that this magic exists.
Is it April 1 ??
As a minimalist, this is giving me hives…
That is the tiniest oven!
I WANT ONE.
Talk about overload! Actually I found the bathroom peaceful after the other rooms. They were rooms, right? Hard to tell with the walls disguised. If I lived there I would feel like I was residing inside of a kaleidoscope.
“residing inside of a kaleidoscope.” Omg PERFECT description!!! A cat and doll kaleidoscope. 😉
I would call this style “Dolores Umbridge unwisely experiments with psychadelics while decorating.”
I love this! XD
I also am puzzled by the simplicity of the bathroom. Perhaps it’s just too hard to take a crap while your eyeballs are being assaulted.
Wow. It seems the owner never found a way to stick cat pictures to tile in a humid environnement. I’m not sure if this is a good thing or a bad thing for the bathroom.
I feel like I’ve been hit with a sack full of doorknobs. Cat-shaped doorknobs. Anyone tall would have serious issues trying to walk through this house without taking a windchime to the eye!
OMG, I’d rather live in the last home tour. In this house I’d just hide in the bathroom all day, and that’d be odd after a while.
This is what my MIL would love her house to look like, and has in the past looked like. She has things in storage, so if something (like a picture) breaks, it’s instantly replaced with a different floral or cat. It’s weird and scary…but oddly, you get used to it quickly. It takes about 30 minutes to forget the volume of images in the room.
She is also an Aussie.
Please let this be on Air B&B. Couldn’t live in it, but I’d love to vacation there for a night & just stare at the madness!
