Wow. I grew up not far from that abandoned house. It definitely captured my imagination as a kid…and still does.
The toilet paper roll thing works great! If you fill to just a little below the top of the roll, when you plant your seedlings the extra poking up will protect the seedlings from cutworms, too!

Oh, I love that house! It makes me sad that it is abandoned. It’s just beautiful. Don’t you wonder about who built it and what happened to them? It looks like it was a labor of love.
