How can I be the best friend to a new mom?

I’m looking for advice from moms, and those who love them, on how I can be a good friend to my BFF who is having a baby. I need a bit of a rundown on how I can expect our relationship to change. So how do I be the best pal to a new mom given our relative distance? And how do I make sure I don’t accidentally make her life harder trying to keep our friendship going?

Is there yoga for people who can’t do yoga?

On my rheumatologist’s recommendation, I don’t do yoga, because if I stretch too far I’ll damage my joints. However, I would really like to find something else that combines meditativeness with motion. Is there a “yoga for people who can’t do yoga”?

What are your favorite fashion blogs?

Lately I have been having a hard time with my wardrobe. I’m a former thrift store junkie, but I, unfortunately, don’t have the time to sift through the racks at the thrift store or even the local vintage shop. So I feel like I am a bit stuck in a fashion rut.

Are there any good fashion blogs you can suggest?

Are there ways you can strengthen a relationship, pre-baby?

We’ve talked about ways you can get your body ready for pregnancy… And we’ve talked about ways you can get yourself ready for a baby… But we haven’t yet talked about how you can get your relationship ready for a baby!

What are some of the ways you went about getting your relationship ready for a baby?

Can you get a tattoo over a stretched postpartum stomach?

I have always wanted a tattoo, and having come to this point in my life I feel like I can choose one to go on said stomach. However, I cannot find any pictures or information on getting a tattoo on stretched, loose skin — not, like, little stretch mark, c-section scar belly. It’s like, hanging, stretched-flesh belly.

Is a tattoo over a stretched postpartum belly a thing you can do? And if it is, what kind of design would work?

How can I get people to stop complimenting my weight loss?

I get tired of people commenting on how great I look when I lose or telling me I look great because I’ve lost weight. Beside saying, “Please don’t comment about my weight” — which can come across brisk — are there any suggestions on more succinctly letting people know their “compliments” are triggering and annoying?

How young is too young to teach kids about sexual objectification?

Recently, some situations have come up which make me, as an intersectional feminist, question how to speak to my sister, let alone my nieces, about sexual objectification. How young is too young to teach kids about sexual objectification? Beyond that, has anyone got any ideas on how to break down sexual objectification for young people to understand?

How to move on when I’m still living with my ex

My partner and I split up a few months ago. Unfortunately, since then I have had a difficult time finding work, we are still living in the same house. I have felt incredibly alone and it has been difficult for me to separate from this relationship because he was my best friend. On top of that, we had moved out of state, away from home 2.5 years earlier, and my pool of friends/support here is a single digit. How do I move on when I’m still living with my ex?
