What the hell do you do with a permanent soap dish?
My husband and I recently moved into a new apartment which we love… except for one design detail. The bathroom counter has a permanent pink shell soap dish attached to it right between our sinks. I would put soap in it, but we use liquid soap. So… there it sits. Mocking me. I’ve tried to embrace the shell, but when the rest of your bathroom theme is NOT shells… what’s a gal to do?
Navigating money issues with lower income roommates
I love my roomies, but while I have a sizable savings account and decent income, they are barely living paycheck to paycheck, even with help from family. Our rent is going up and though they’ve assured me they can afford it, I’m getting nervous. I don’t want to loan them money, but I do want to stay current on our bills.

I, like most people, know the risks and dangers associated with smoking. We should — we hear them often enough. So when a kid, who are often present at adult parties, asks me “Why do you smoke?” it becomes difficult to answer.
