Our homes are made up of lots of working parts — bedrooms, redecorated kitchens, upgraded baths, ogle-worthy renos, ticks and tricks for cleaning and organizing, and real home tours all live here to represent the spaces of your Offbeat Home.

Transform your staircase with vinyl tape

So yeah. This looks like some insanely awesome paint job, or some sort of custom acrylic installation. But these boldly colorful striped steps are actually just covered in vinyl tape by Scottish Artist Jim Lambie. Seriously. AMAZING. Use press-and-seal wrap to protect fridge shelves

Protecting your refrigerator shelves from permanent messes (and smells!) isn’t too hard if you employ some press-and-seal style plastic wrap.

Jasna’s apartment in Cologne, Germany, filled with femininity, soft colours, and crafts

Just because you live in a small apartment in Cologne, Germany, doesn’t mean it has to feel cramped. Jasna’s apartment is all about crafts, colors, feminine decor, and a spotted fridge. And somehow, it doesn’t seem cramped at all! Oh, and wait until you see how she uses clothing as decor.

Who knew ladders could be repurposed for SO MANY THINGS!

I’ve seen ladders being used as shoe racks before, but I haven’t seen them hung horizontally on walls to be used as an easy closet hack, or many of these other brilliant ideas.
