I have a buddy who just bought a house with an awesome backyard. The first home purchase he wants to make? The perfect hammock, of course. Just in time to ride out the hot Los Angeles summer in swinging style. So I went and did a little hammock research for him, and I thought I’d share these awesome finds with all y’all. You know, in case you want to swing away this summer as well.
So take a deep breath and lose yourself in the all these nap-ready, gentle-swaying, beauties…
This hammock feels like it came from outer space
Hello, rainbow hammock heaven…
I got my parents a collapsable, portable hammock similar to this one. Getting out of it is weird because it’s low to the ground and it’s not as comfy lovely as a regular hammock, but I do recommend it for anyone who loves hammocking but can’t commit to hammock poles or frames.
Holy crap! That’s awesome!
I totally grew up with a collapsible framed hammock, that was much more… hammocky (crochet) in the middle. And it was awesome. No need for treeing.
My ENO hammock is very similar to the “Insectophobic Special” in the list. It’s amazing and I backpack with it because it is super light.
I have an ENO Nest hammock and love it. I take it to parks and find a few sturdy looking trees to hang it from.
ENO is amazing!
I would loooove to get a swing hammock but it’s way too pricey for us. We do have a gift card set aside to get a hammock when the weather is enjoyable again.
I have the vivere one, although the fabric part is different colored than the one pictured here. It’s not super portable, but it is a space saving stand, which fits on my tiny patio in my tiny backyard 🙂
I just learned about FOOT HAMMOCKS that go under your desk!

I love a great hammock, but for me Sky Chairs are where it’s at. If I wasn’t renting, I would get rid of my sofa and just have sky chairs hanging from the ceiling beams. Or possibly on tracks so that I could just move between rooms without ever having to get up.
Omg, Sky Chairs on tracks that can go anywhere in the house is the coolest idea evarrr.
I am on a quest for a hammock and this post is awesome! When my guy and I got together, there was a park down the street from my (very tiny basement studio) apartment that we would walk to, and it had hammocks between the trees! We spent many evenings laying in the hammocks, wishing upon stars, and talking. I want to do that in our backyard, now.
My guy and I have a Byer of Maine backpacking hammock and a Gibbon Double Hammock, so we can recline together, or separately, they’re both great, and super easy to throw up, all you need is two trees! They come with all their bits and pieces in the bag, and are a bit cheaper than an Eno hammock. They’re wonderful for camping!
Such wonderful collection! I hope you would also write about campinghammocks!
