23feb13Shootdanielle (of gorgeous silk scarf curtains fame) uploaded this inspiring before and after into our Flickr pool. This before and after transformation might have you re-thinking that worn-down dresser on the side of the road.

I scored this sweet, super-heavy, solid wood dresser from the children’s center where I sub. It needed a bit of love as you can see, so I pulled out the left over house paint and went to town.

As well as the left-over house paint, I added some chalkboard paint. And the end result is smashing!

The quote on top is from Rumi “May you be silently drawn by the strange pull of what you love.”

  1. First off, this is awesome. I love the color choices and the quote.

    Did you have a problem with the drawers being really hard to open/close and making a lot of noise? I’m thinking about doing a similar update on my husband’s dresser, but I’d really like to address the drawer functionality problem at the same time. The drawers are just wood on wood slides.
