C360_2013-06-30-11-40-30I’m wondering what other Offbeat Homies do for bra storage or clothing storage in general. I have several bras, and one nice-but-full closet with hanging space only. I know that I might have TOO MANY underthings but downsizing is not an option.

Underwear easily rolls/folds and fits into the drawers I have. But I can’t figure out how to economically stuff 20 or more bras into a drawer and make them accessible. I can’t be the only bra hoarder.

What do you do with clothes (but seriously bras!) when you don’t have a lot of closet space or existing furniture? –Danielle

First, spend a minute perusing Amazon’s selection of “bra organizers” — there’s some pretty nifty shit in there! Now, let’s take it to the Homies. How do you rein in the clothing — especially bras — that overtake your bedroom?

Comments on Help! My bedroom is overrun by bras

  1. Having a larger, less common size, I don’t have a lot of bras anymore because they’re so pricey! I’m lucky to have very deep dresser drawers so they do fit fine but I mostly end up hanging them on command hooks.

  2. After reading these comments, I think I’ll be switching to 3m hooks on the inside of my closet door. Thanks for all the great suggestions!

However, up to now, I’ve had them in the drawer (often callously folded cup in cup, which you’re not supposed to do, as many commenters pointed out), but they usually migrate to simply being laid out open on top of my (full) t-shirt drawer which is actually okay since it’s fairly deep. Most of my bras lie flat, though (no foam cups).

Lastly: the questioner admits that it’s a lot of bras but isn’t looking to downsize, so let’s try to focus on the storage solutions. Everyone’s allowed to have a hobby. 😉

  3. I just hang mine by one shoulder strap on a normal clothes hanger (the kind with little indents for dress straps) in my closet. If I’m feeling fancy, I organized them by hanging all the colored ones on one hook, all the skin colored ones on the other hook, and then loop the black ones over the top hook. Strapless bras can be hooked closed around the bottom bar of the hanger.

  4. I hang all my bras from a hanger. One strap of all of them around the hook. I know it’s not supposed to be great for the bras but whatever.

for an added bonus I hang the bra-bunch hanger in the corner where no normal clothes would fit anyway.

  5. I bought a small wicker dresser, the kind that a person would normally put in a bathroom. But before I could afford that, I went to Homesense and bought a couple decorative hat boxes. They’re the perfect size, and I still use them for lingerie. They’re super cute too!
