Peanut butter and jelly banana dog

Last week I found myself starving and low on groceries. In a moment of desperate MUST-NOM-NOW-ness, I created this monstrosity, the Peanut Butter & Jelly Banana Dog. The recipe here should be pretty self-explanatory: it's just a pb&j sandwich on a hot dog bun, with a banana nestled inside. I'm confident I'm not the first to have thought of this (…Google confirms!), but it'd simply never occurred to me to use a banana as a hot dog. This sandwich was delicious and filling and better yet: entertaining. Phallic food is awesome!

PS: Pee-wee Herman approves.

  1. This is a fun idea! One time we had leftover turkey burger patties, but were out of buns. I cut the pattie in half, folded a piece of bread and put some mustard in there, and put the pattie halves inside. Turkey burger bread taco!

  2. Things I learned at Girl Scout Camp: when the campers eat all of the hot dogs, a dill pickle spear works rather well in a hot dog bun.

  3. omg face-palm awesomeness.. as a faithful banana eater, i can't believe this thought has never occurred to me
