I got this gold unicorn lamp from the Kid’s section of Target, and love the hell out of it! But I also noticed these other awesome kitschy lamps on the shelves. And then I thought… what other kinds of lighting magic does the Kid’s section hold?
So let’s explore together and find some awesome lamps for kids ourselves…

What the… what is Miffy!? And is Miffy not a bunny? I’m so intrigued and confused.
Miffy is a children’s book (and later television?) character created by Dick Bruna. She is a bunny, yes. But she’s a specific bunny 😉 She got branded on a lot of things in the UK in the early ’80’s, so I was given lots of Miffy merch when I was a little.
Exactly what I said to myself upon seeing the image! Then I said, “Hello, old friend!” I was surprised by how much joy seeing her brought me.
This could not have come along at a better time! Husband and me just bought a house. We’re moving in next month. In our apartment we have overhead lights in every room so we never had a need for lamps. In the house? We have overhead lights in … the kitchen/dining area. That’s it! We need to stock up on some lamps right quick or we’ll be fumbling around our new house in the dark!
I love that Pillowfort line at Target! Their non-lamp stuff is great, too–we have a few things in our kid-free house.

I have that triceratops lamp! I also have a t. rex just like it 🙂 the pieces come flat and then you put them together yourself, which is kinda fun. I got them from thinkgeek, I believe. Years ago now.
