Will future homes be open source and Creative Commons-licensed?

I am so in love with open source solutions, but I’m used to free, group-edited projects being relegated to the tech world: Gooogle plugins for my Gmail and Chrome, Wikipedia…the number of ways humans have found to work together to improve our world is astounding and effing impressive. Could you imagine what Gutenberg, the inventor of the printing press, would think of the accumulation of information that is Wikipedia?!

Throw this party: A Nerdy Thirty birthday party

About two weeks before my 30th birthday, someone reminded me that my “dirty thirty” was coming up soon. To which Aaron, that guy I married, responded: “With Megan, it’s more like her nerdy thirty.” And thus, a theme was born!

To earn your cat nerd cred, you’ve gotta know the three types of cats

The blog I talk about the most is definitely Way of Cats. Because I am a cat lady. CAT PEOPLE: you will love nerding OUT about the minds of cats, so start with this post about the three types of cats.

Make yourself a bowl of honey spiced crickets

Sariann and Chelsea are two big fans of George R.R. Martin’s Song of Ice and Fire series. They are also fans of food. They combine their interests in their unusual cooking blog, Inn at the Crossroads. Here’s their post about a tasty-sounding spiced locust!
