Today is single parent day on Offbeat Mama! Single ladies (and gentlemen!), pay attention, because Steve is one DILFY (and single!) dude. -Stephanie
This is my friend Steve and his daughter Ruby.
I know in the past there’s been some controversy around our featuring DILFs, with some of readers finding the whole thing trashy and heteronormative, and having concerns over what the “F” stands for. Is it really appropriate to ogle someone else’s partner? There was talk of “Well, maybe the F just stands for FRIEND. Dad I’d Like to FRIEND!”
Here’s the thing though: when the DILF in question is a single dad, like Steve here — ladies, the F can stand for whatever you want!
BOWCHICKABOWBOW! Did I just turn Offbeat Mama into a single parent dating site?
Steve was a stay-at-home-dad for the first year of Ruby’s life, and captured a few of his Papa Tips over here.

ADORABLE!
I am really digging Single Parent week here on Offbeat Mama!
I sooooo want his number!
Can we arrange delivery to my doorstep asap?
plz?
okay so I’m gay … but that’s beyond gorgeous !!!
I just read his papatips too – and for a soon to be “other mama” – I was in tears… so perfect.. he should write more!
Excuse me, but where are the thoughtful, caring, CUTE single daddies where I live? Do you think he’d consider a long distance relationship? 🙂
*whistle*
As a dad-to-be I really appreciate the DILF posts. I don’t particularly mind the “dilf” moniker — and I suspect any guy that is showcased in this manner as an offbeat, involved father would understand the context and the spirit in which it is bestowed.
And thanks for linking to another dad-blog! I, for one, appreciate the periodic DILF posts. For my part, it helps me feel more like a normal guy for wanting to be involved my child’s life.
I think DILFs posts are a’okay… I mean to deny that we are ever even slightly attracted to other people is also a weird socially prescripted thing also. Just because we might Like to …F- someone doesn’t mean we ACTUALLY would, or that that means some how we are going to show up at said Dad’s house ready to “go.” LOL.
hooray for single dads! I have known many single dads who’ve raised their kids alone for one reason or another & they’re awesome guys.
I love the DILF posts! I think it’s really important to include and honor the Dads in mommy blogs because we wouldn’t be mommys without DILFs!
