The Homie with my favorite Flickr name, Precious Roy, submitted this fabulous twist on a bedside table. The base is made from an old Singer sewing machine, and it’s topped with a cutting board hand-made out of scrap oak.
Notice how the cords just neatly plunge down the cutting board’s hole at the edge. How cute: a great idea nestled in with a great furniture makeover.
Got great repurposing ideas, or great makeovers, or just plain great things in your home? We wanna see ’em. Get to submitting.
Does this mean I’m not the only person who knows Sifl & Olly? O.O
It does indeed. 😉
In other news: That’s a really cute bedside table. The red makes it stand out so fantastically
I love this! When I was little, my parents would take my sister and I out to lunch on half-days of school near my Dad’s work. We got to sit at our own table, made out of an old singer sewing machine. Our feet couldn’t reach the floor, but we could push the pedal up and down to each other!
Aww man. My parents moved recently and one of those Singer tables was among the things that went to a charity store.. They offered it to me and I considered doing something like this to it, but decided I should just let it go.. Regret!
This looks great, well done!
I have one of these! Not a Singer but a Gritzner. The actual sewing machine was gone long ago, but it still has the wheel and pedal. It has a white marble top and holds my turtles’ aquarium.
