If you’re thinking of re-doing your bathroom, or just like to check out fun modern fixtures, this roundup of modern faucets has your name on it. Some of these faucets have the magical power of transforming your bathroom into a Zen garden, and some make it look like you’re washing your hands on the Starship Enterprise — like this Frisbee faucet with temperature-sensitive color changing LED lights.
A LOT of these are ridiculously expensive, some of them are surprisingly affordable, and I don’t think any of them are particularly eco-friendly or low-flow. BUT! All of them are gonna make you say WHOA!
Check out this hack for turning your modern bathroom faucet into a towel rack!
Would you believe this faucet is on sale for $24! That’s a lot of awesome for not a lot of dollars.
My jaw dropped when I saw this one. Wow, what an impact — it’s like a sci-fi waterfall!
They call this the “fan” faucet… for obvious reasons.
I have a super small master bathroom that doesn't allow for a large sink. But just because it's a small space, doesn't mean that I... Read more
This faucet has a LOT of wow-factor to it — wall mounted, waterfall spout, and color-changing LED lights.
I love the combo of chrome and glass on this modern, Zen-like waterfall faucet.
This one almost looks like an MC Escher piece.
I used a faucet just like this, and I can’t tell you the thrill it gave me. Yes, I’m a nerd. But it was so AWESOME!
I also love the “joystick” action on this minimal and super modern faucet.
Speaking of minimalist, who needs a faucet at all! Just have water flow directly from your bathroom mirror.
The Fluid faucet reminds me of jumping off a diving board. It also comes with that neat extender (pictured above) for taller sink bowls.
Wow, I don’t even know how you turn this thing on! But I know that once you do, you have three different LED colors that light up. Blue is my favorite though.
This one just simply looks like two pipes intersecting. But it’s so much more than that! It’s an eco-friendly automatic faucet, utilizing less than 0.8 gallons per cycle, while a hydro-powered turbine charges the power supply during usage eliminating the need for battery replacement or consumption of external electrical power for up to 10 years.
This is the most architectural sink I’ve ever seen. Frank Lloyd Wright would be proud.
You can also easily achieve the fun look of a modern LED faucet on ANY bathroom fixture with this screw-on LED light from Think Geek.
Finally, the perfect sink for your spaceship! This is the Ripple Faucet. The LED lights underneath the surface vary their intensity and color based on the flow and temperature of the water.
Nice finds, Megan! My friend growing up had a faucet like the one on sale and I always thought it was neat.
I work for a kitchen and bath renovation company and as a result I’m a HUGE faucet-geek. My favourite ones are from Aquabrass, they’ve got this one that’s both a faucet AND a flower vase…ridiculously overpriced but SO FREAKING PRETTY. http://www.aquabrass.com/products/flower-41116/?cur_tid=119
ER MER GERD!!!!! That’s ridonkulously cool.
I love the architectonic one, if you knew a welder you could totally get one diyed.
Though its a little more Liebeskind than F.L.W. 😉
Nice inspiration pics, especially since I want to tear out my bathroom so bad. *sigh*
Holy Crapsville! These are amazing!
KILLIN’ ME.
I have this bamboo faucet and I LOVES it.
YES! My parents have that faucet in their home on Maui. I LOOOOVE it so much. I never knew a faucet could bring me that much happiness. 😉
This is the one I’m putting in my bathroom…it’s not as fancy as the ones in this article but it’s got major curves, like Joan from Mad Men kinda curves. http://www.pfisterfaucets.com/Bath/Product/F-042-JDCC.aspx
Oooooh, me likey!
I’ve had the Thinkgeek one for a few years. It even turns purple when the water’s lukewarm! It seems to provide almost endless fascination for guests, too!
Awesome! I think the first one is my favorite. To me, the one without a faucet at all looks like the mirror is taking a leak though! haha
That’s exactly what I was thinking!
That Think Geek one totally looks like a tiny lightsaber. Hands and lightsabers are traditionally a bad combination but I still love it.
I’d also love to see how cats would react to colour changing streams of water. They seem fascinated by regular sinks so it’d be fun to add an extra suprise to the mix!
Now I want a house with, like, ten bathrooms just so I can have a different faucet in every room.
That last one could be a potentially great adaptive aid for low vision! I can never see the writing on faucets, but if the faucet lit up to tell me if it was hot or cold, it might actually help!
Love the think geek one.
hello
This could be further formed into a real blue print. A few schools have a 3-D kitchen or work with nearby colleges and the designing divisions that could likewise create the real model.
When I saw the first one I was like “Hmm, good idea but nothing much”.
And it was all crazy after that. Who even think of creating these faucets. I LOVE the 16th so much. It looks like laser beem and it reminds me of the sword in Star Wars. I’d love to have that in my bathroom or in my kitchen
