In news I am LOVING, a Russian modeling agency is making our lives by only hiring models over 45-years-old, most of whom are over 60. The youngest model at Oldushka, Sergey Arctica, is 45 and by far their youngest. While most of the modeling world is dominated by the white, young, and ultra thin, some agencies are stretching the boundaries of beauty and it’s working. Apparently they’re booking models into all kinds of mainstream advertising.
In an interview Vogue, founder Igor Gavar said, “Beauty—it’s a quality that becomes more valued with years… I wanted to do a separate project with them. A modeling agency became that sort of project.”

Thank you for sharing! As a single woman “of a certain age” living in the USA, I really needed to see this today! As I grow closer to 50, I feel more and more invisible, irrelevant & unattractive in today’s society. This uplifted my spirit! Thank you again for sharing!
A man or woman of a certain age?? What?? We all age. It’s not just women who age. Men age too.
I hope that one day, we will stop the sexist rules and ugly stop double standards. I dislike all of them, like the one where we say “women of a certain age”, or that women need to worry about their looks, or that it’s only girls why can be virgins, or that only dad can walk daughter down the aisle.
So anyway, this sexist stuff about saying “women of a certain age”, has got to stop, because men get old and ugly too.
I want to be a model too. 😉
I am sixty seven and love to dress. I have received many compliments about my attire. I am looking for an agency that I can sport my wears. I want to set-up a web page to encourage older men to dress without going into debt.
