Where can I find Waldorf resources for parenting and early childhood?
Now that I’m becoming a parent, I have an excuse to indulge my love of Waldorf toys, but I’m interested in the philosophy behind them as well. I’m interested in hearing the experience of Offbeat parents who have incorporated Steiner/Waldorf philosophies into their parenting. What resources (books or online) do you recommend to inform a new parent about incorporating Steiner/Waldorf into their home and parenting philosophies?

My water breaks while we’re discussing what to cook for dinner (roasted chicken and potatoes!). I call the midwife on-call and tell her what happened and she is pretty convinced that my water did actually break. She tells me to come on in to labor and delivery where they can evaluate me to see if I can hold baby in a little longer or if this is a true water break.

The week before last Christmas, a friend of mine from work asked me to take care of her Poinsetta plant while she was away from the office. I don’t have the greenest thumb in the world, but of course, I agreed to help out. After all, how much damage could I do in a week, right?

Needless to say, I forgot about my promise to water my friend’s plant and e-mailed her as soon as I remembered my mistake. My note said something like, “Sorry I forgot to water your plant… but I had a miscarriage.”

Until recently, the last time I had played was when we bought The Sims Castaway while I was pregnant. I may or may not have spent hours obsessing over my Castaway baby, which we named Lentil, and deciding we were having a girl after “we” did on Castaway (we had a boy in real life), and worrying about poor little Lentil, who had to deal with Castaways-Stephanie who apparently didn’t own any slings or want to breastfeed.
