Our laid back family photo shoot at Grandpa’s hardware store
This beautiful family decided to take advantage of all the nooks and crannies at grandpa’s hardware store in Wisconsin for a dynamic family photo shoot.
Let’s see the magic that they created and learn a bit about the inspiration from the family…
Try not to squee too loudly when you see this newborn dressed up as a baby bear
If you have your own bundle of adorableness or maybe just like squeeing at newborn babes in cute costumes, this newborn photo sesh has it all — a sweet baby named Cade, bear ears, sleepy grump face (my fave), and that mysterious magic that goes into posing a sleeping baby. If you need some rustic inspiration for your own baby portrait session, here’s your chance to take notes…
A Southern engagement/family session for two moms and their kiddos
The family chose to shoot near a lake they call “Turtle Lake” (they recently set a turtle free there). Everyone showed up in matching bow ties and Toms and, according to Schellie, ROCKED their photos.
Family photo fun time with an international blended family of six
This set of photos from Maine-based Justine Johnson Photography celebrates a blended family of AWESOME: Manya and Brian live in Kenya with their four kiddos. These two were both divorced when they met, and happily joined her two daughters and his two sons together. When the six of them were altogether visiting grandparents in Maine last summer they decided to round up the gang for photos — and here’s what they came away with.
A downtown Seattle family photo session featuring a Dalek, umbrellas, and dancing
I first spied a few of the photos from this fun family session in our Flickr pool a week or so ago, and after seeing a few more I knew it needed to be shared. This family is basically the epitome of SO MUCH FUN — I love that their session took place at EMP in Seattle! This is the stuff of pop culture geekery dreams.
An adoptive family welcomes their newest addition with a Red Thread Session
Today we get to share a flawless family session with you guys that’s straight outta California. East coast photographers Val and Sarah hooked with Harmony and her family through Red Thread Sessions, a service that connects adoptive families with photographers interested in documenting their growing families.
A foresty mom-and-me session with a single parent and her five-year-old
These photos of Athalia and her daughter, Lailah, were recently sent over to us from California photographer Whittaker Portraits. Athalia is a single mom, and wanted to capture this time in her five-year-old’s life. Athalia plans to give these to her daughter when she grows up along with poems, letters, and quotes she’s kept in a journal, which I love!
A sun-kissed, free-spirited California family photo session
This family photo session from California-based Arina B Photography has a great blend of all the perfect components: beautiful locations, willing subjects, and a family that clearly has a lot of fun together. My favorite thing about these photos is you can FEEL how close-knit this family of five is, and see all of the joy they have together.
