How I repurposed my wedding veil at home
Did you see my incredibly simple, $14, no-sew DIY veil on Offbeat Bride? This is how I repurposed the fabric for our daughter’s room…
How to make giant 10-sided dice
I present to you my tutorial for making giant d10 (because the giant d20 didn’t work out so well — the pattern is far more complicated and didn’t really work with the thick cardboard). If you have questions, feel free to ask ’em in the comments.
Amazing cheap steak and squeezy garlic: The best cooking tips I’ve ever come across
I didn’t start learning to cook until I was 27. I may have a lazy streak, and cooking just seemed like a pain in the ass. But last night I was eating a super nom-y dinner that took four minutes to make, and it inspired me to share all of my favorite food makin’ tricks…
Nested cards: Extreme(ly organized) letter writing for your loved ones
The first year that each of my sisters were at university, I sent them a letter every single week, without using the post office. I got the idea from my mother. When I was small she didn’t go away often, but when she did she would leave a trail of notes that Dad would help us follow every day. What crafts would you recommend for our weekly craft-y group hang?
I want to start a once-a-week group where we can do crafty things and learn new skills. We are already planning on amigurumi dolls, and learning knitting, crocheting, and cake decorating. Any other fun home-y crafty skills we should put on the docket?

It seemed like a good thing to have, but not something to prioritize as a working (sometimes struggling) artist. Can y’all help a Homie out and break down what your experiences have been, and any advice you have on renters insurance?
How many ways can you re-function a non-functional fireplace?
After reading the post “my dog sleeps in the fireplace” I realized that there are probably TONS of different uses for non-functional fireplaces. I would LOVE to hear suggestions on what to do/how to decorate our non-functional fireplaces!
The 8 awesome advantages of having a tandem bike
My husband is the kind of person who, when faced with an escalator and a set of steps that both stretch as far as the eye can see, will ALWAYS choose to run up the stairs. I have been known to get out of breath walking up the few flights of steps to our flat. I wanted to get more active with him, but when it came to ways of spending time together that satisfied my husband’s love of endorphins, we were a little bit stymied. A few years ago we found the solution — a tandem bike that we’ve name Daisy.
