I think one of the reasons for obsession is that there are so few things as functional AND cute that give you the sort of pleasure you get from dressing a baby bottom.

You know, it's not very offbeat of this site to feature "things to buy" every third post. Buying stuff from small businesses is indeed better than buying stuff from corporate monoliths, but why is consumerism such a huge part of the culture here? Who cares if your kid's onesie has flames on it or skulls or whatever? Since when does that say anything about who you are? Yes, it's cute and it's fun, but for pete's sake, there are limits. A bit more focus on the substance of mothering would be welcome, at least by this mom.
I'm sorry you're not liking the balance. We like substance and we like schtuff — 20% of our content is schtuff related, and it's always been that way.

That is awesome! I dug myself some skulls for myself before I was a mom, but I love the theme in baby stuff, and I don't know why. They just seem to suit him.
We're in a new-diaper-freeze right now, but I'm keeping these in mind when his covers need replacing. <3
