Sometimes I have dreams of recreating Hogwarts in my own home and finally get that admissions owl I somehow missed at age eleven. Then you see what Jasper Price and his wife Angie have done to recreate the Hogwarts common room and realize that you’re out of your quidditch league. They’ve amassed the most mystical of Harry Potter decor collections (Mrs. Norris lookalike included!) and turned their home into the wizarding world of our dizziest daydreams.
Here’s what Jasper had to say about the magical endeavor…
Angie and I have been working hard to put the finishing touches on the Common Room in our home … but I’ve realized with our collection, we’ll probably never be “finished!” From the prop replicas I’ve made for Angie — like the Monster Book of Monsters, Quidditch case, wand boxes and more — to the items we’ve collected from The Noble Collection, Pottery Barn Teen and more, the magic just keeps getting more … well, magical. Don’t mind the Mrs. Norris wannabe. Dignan the Wondercat insisted on being photographed more than Dobby.
By Merlin’s most baggy Y-fronts, how much Potterphile awesomeness can live in one space?! Put on the Sorting Hat and get housed into this house. Lots more photos are available in their Facebook album. Thanks for letting us share these with our rabid Potter-loving readers, Jasper! Accio amazingness because time is Galleons…
Mrs. Norris, it’s YOU!
That is fantastic, and so dedicated. Thanks for sharing. I loved looking at all those photos, and guests at that house must spend ages just wandering around in awe. The stained glass window with the house animals is very cool.
And that first photo of Dignan the Wondercat: I know it’s not really Harry Potter but that is such a cute picture. I don’t know if it’s the fluffy fur or the soft expression but that cat just makes me melt. So adorable!
#DecorGoals for sure! Thanks for sharing this bit of amazingness. I’m so curious how some of the props were made (like the paintings- did they make those??!). What a treat!
