We’re celebrating all kinds of births this week, so we’ve dubbed it BIRTH WEEK. Today we’ll be focusing on Cesarean deliveries.
As some of you might remember, regular Offbeat Mama contributor Hunny wrote about the cesarean delivery of her second daughter, Zephyr in March 2012. Hunny opted to deliver via cesarean section for health reasons, and her husband Joe filmed the entire birth. I’ve actually had the privilege of being in an operating room while a baby was being born via cesarean section, but it’s definitely not something everyone gets to do any day of the week.
The video is so cute — it’s mostly eleven minutes of banter and sweet babiness, but the moment that Zephyr was lifted out of Hunny’s womb is captured (just in case you get a little squeamish). I thought it’d be awesome to share, so keep reading to see it.
Oh my goodness. I have never witnessed a birth before. This was amazing. Thank you for sharing!
Thank you for watching
Thank you for sharing this. I’m crying now remembering my CSection and wishing I’d been able to witness mine in the same way. Such a beautiful birth and Zephyr is beautiful!
Thank you so much for sharing this. You made me feel much better if I have to have an emergency C-section with my baby.
Beautiful video.
Wow. I’ve had two c-sections. I feel like I finally got to see my babies post-birth. Thank you! I also am reminded of how quickly Mommy is forgotten. 😉
