How to throw a rad AF Galentine’s Day brunch for all your (single and taken) pals
Galentine’s Day is coming soon! No, not the holiday for the couples, the wondrous holiday born from Leslie Knope on Parks and Recreation. The FUN one, okay? The one that celebrates all of your friends, gals and otherwise. Coupled or single or N/A. Celebrating the beautiful, naïve, sophisticated newborn babies. You beautiful tropical fish. You beautiful, talented, brilliant, powerful musk oxen. And of course, you poetic noble land mermaids.
If you’re wanting to celebrate all of your pals at a Galentine’s Day brunch, this is how I would do it…

How to plan a dinner party (that won’t end in a surprise fire)
Christmas, Easter, Mother’s day, someone’s birthday. The occasions to have a party are numerous. But someone has to organize and host the bash. How about you?
Throw this creepy but elegant goth dinner party
When planning this super creepy goth dinner party, I wanted to avoid the kitschy, usual food you see at Halloween parties: the hot dog “fingers,” the mummy pigs in a blanket… I wanted food that was elegant and still tasty!
These are the creepy things I will serve you if you ever come to eat at my house…
Board games for people who hate board games
My fiancé is a board game geek, we have over 100 board games! The problem is that I’m not such a big fan (and am also a massive sore loser, we both are). So he has to try and find games that I will like, so we can play at home.
Here are the board games we play. Board games for people, like me, who don’t like board games…
Tree Day, or our Christmas Before Christmas tradition
The end result of our Tree Day is the best of both worlds:
We get to have Christmas our way, with the just two of us, and when the real Christmas rolls around a couple of weeks later, we get to spend quality time with our families. It also serves to make the erection of the Christmas tree decorating its own special ritual, when it could be seen as just a chore.
The Simpsons-themed BBBQ (the extra B stands for baby shower)
When Ken and Erika first met through mutual friends, one of the only things Erika knew about Ken was that he loved The Simpsons. That was enough for her; she decided she liked him already. Fast forward a few more years and Erika and Ken are about to be parents. Before life becomes all about baby, Erika and Ken wanted to throw a co-ed baby shower that reflected their favourite thing: The Simpsons.
This isn’t any ordinary party, though, this is the ultimate DIY baby shower that will have any Simpsons fan in awe…
How to play Cards Against Humanity as a baby shower game
I wanted to show off the awesome way that Ken and Erika and their guests played a large-scale game of Cards Against Humanity as an hilarious baby shower game!
(Psst: While these cards are hilariously baby-themed, you could easily change this to fit any party theme: birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, bar mitzvahs… This game is always a winner.)
