This jewelry tree makes necklaces ART
Aryll of the sweet Nerf gun displays ALSO posted her elegant jewelry storage solution to the Offbeat Home Flickr group.

It took me a bit to understand how this all worked. You too? It's shiny silver tacks + long necklaces + a tree limb vinyl decal + ROCKING wall color = fantastique!.

Dig it. Plus, you know, no tangled necklaces and no forgetting about necklaces at the bottom of a jewelry box. I found a bunch of vinyl decals on Amazon, if you're looking to start shopping.

O.O
Holy crap, Aryll. I LOVE this idea. Like, seriously, looooove. It's gorgeous, it's cheap, and it's completely unique and personalize-able (I just made that word up. But it's true.)
And now I'm thinking you could cut leaf-shapes out of a dark foam, back them with cardboard and a reusable sticky tape (or a tack) and stick your stud earrings in them. Dude.
*Surveys walls appraisingly*

I love the idea for hanging earrings, another would be to cut that mesh you do cross stitch on into flowers and secure it on the ends of the branches and then use them for hanging earrings

Ooo…I love the foam leaf idea! That would add such great dimension! I have a crazy weave placemat from Pier 1 that I'd like to hang my earrings on…but the leaves would be fantastic for my studs

Love this idea. It's way better than the actual Manzanita branches in a jar that I'm currently using, which is so messy! Now you've got me thinking of things I can paint on the wall instead to do this.

Inspiring people is my favorite. Go for it!

That's awesome. I collect unique jewelry and I love the idea of displaying them like this. I like the comment about painting something on the wall instead of buying the vinyl cutouts. Oh, I think I know what my next art project is.
Thanks Aryll!!

You can also just buy sticky-backed vinyl and cut your own. A friend works at a sign shop and he often cuts his own decals.

Totally! You can get contact paper in some awesome colors and designs, and it's fairly paint-safe.

they make wood grained contact paper

I have a variation on this idea using an old photo frame. It should be a wooden frame. Remove the glass and use small tacks/finishing nails along the bottom and sides to hang necklaces or funky earrings. I also used a mesh fabric across the open section to hang dangle earrings. Layer the fabric a few times and use bias/hem tape to keep the ends nice. Glue or tack to the back of the frame.

This is a great alternative — I'm renting, so can't start doing drastic things to my bedroom walls. I'm now going to make it my mission to find a lovely old frame to do this with.

First of all. That necklace collection makes me swoon.
Second of all… possibilities? Limitless! Arms, giraffe neck, raincloud…

I just bookmarked this page. I've been needing a new necklace storage solution. I'd been thinking it for a while, but it was brought home to me when all my jewelry ended up in a tangled mess after the big earthquake. (Totally not important compared to what many others in Japan are going through, and we were very lucky that that was the worst. I definitely realize that.)

Yessss! Oh my god you have no clue how long I've been looking for the perfect way to organize and display my jewelry! I mean, I could get a jewelry stand, sure, but they're never big or tall enough (I have a LOT of necklaces and many of them are way too long). This, though… this is perfect. Oh, I'm so happy <3

Wait, the girl who did this is the same one who did the Nerf storage solution? I didn't even catch that in my first read through, but, wow, a girl after my own heart! <3 I bet her home is absolutely amazing.
