Having a four-month maternity leave sounded great, but staying at home all that time was wearing me down. I am serious travel bug/wanderlust case and by the time our child turned one-month-old I was starting to get restless. So when my husband decided to quit his job a month later I told him: “If you are quitting, we are traveling!”
Our hipster city trip to Berlin
Berlin is a city of hipsters: especially in the neighborhood of Kreuzberg, which was right around the corner from our hotel. You almost can’t take a step without tripping over an artisan coffee bar, a craft beer pub or a vegan snack bar. It was amazing. We ate out every night, rarely spent more than € 40 for the two of us, and ate GREAT food. It was fabulous dahling.

I have wanted to do the Trans-Siberian trip for ten years, so it was well and truly time! We started in Beijing, China and did the Trans-Siberian Railway. So we travelled by train through Mongolia and Russia, then went to Finland, Denmark, Germany, and France, flying back to Australia from Paris.
Help calm my tits about traveling with a pet overseas
I’m looking for some advice. My husband and I are moving to Sweden at the end of the month from Seattle. We are taking our giant cat Hax0r with us. He is too heavy to fly in the cabin, and will have to go under the plane as cargo. Sadly, all I can find online are horror stories about lost or injured pets. Have you ever traveled overseas with your fur baby? What advice would you give?
