Come with me this Monday and tiptoe through the Offbeat Home Flickr Group to enjoy uploads from our readers. Y’all did us PROUD this week!
Enough with the decor porn! Let’s see those Clicky Links
- Hey Sanrio fans, here’s a new fantasy vacation: this is a Hello Kitty holiday home available for rent in China. Check out a few additional photos here. Thanks, Leslie!
- Weird house of the week: a crop circle house in Australia.
- Decorating ideas to steal from Game of Thrones from Casa Sugar. Hot! I haven’t seen this show yet, but my nerds keep gushing about it.
- Go NOW to Offbeat Mama for the full-on tour of Claudia’s backyard kidlet fort. You might remember catching a glimpse of this a few weeks back.
- Dude-Craft indeed: furniture built from road signs.
- Yay! Alicia Beck’s balloon rugs!
- And, all y’all geeky crocheters, get on this pattern for a Portal companion cube.

I am in LOVE with the outdoor day bed. But I have so many questions! What if it rains? How do you deal with the dust/pollen/other detritus that must get all over it?
hi victoria, the part above the bed is roofed, so i don’t need to get in panic if it rains. the bed consists of selfmade benches, which can be arranged as sitting options or like a daybed. i didn’t have problems with the polen or foliage so far, we’re not allergic to them. i think in fall the benches will go under the other terrace that have a firplace and is also completely roofed without plants.
here is a picture of the same place as sitting corner. http://www.flickr.com/photos/whosjaja/5560895772/in/photostream/
let me know if you have more questions

That’s my stainless steel countertop! My guy housemates found it buried in the ground and when they pulled it out it was full of bees. Totally worth it though…
That is crazy. But worth it. 🙂
That would have scared me to bits. I would have dubbed it the “Bee counter”, constantly quoted Eric Idle, and always been just a teensy bit scared to use it. I’d have the irrational fear that a stray super-bee would be left behind to seek revenge.
Bravo to you for being more rational than I am.
Hey, that’s my suit of armor! It makes me very happy to see it here!
And I also need more logistical information about the outdoor bed!
hi jenny, cute armor suit! 🙂
to the daybed i just answered it to victoria, so i will just copy if you don’t mind:

I’d love an outdoor bed but down here in Australia we get some pretty funky spiders that i’m sure would enjoy the bed too!
I really love the look of stainless counters/things with more rustic looking kitchens. We have a 70’s-ish kitchen, and really like the way that our stainless appliances make it look modern but loved-in, and can’t wait to get our stainless island to complete the look. Thanks for posting some inspiration for us!
