Look but don’t touch: Let’s talk about tattoo etiquette
Obviously touching anyone without permission isn’t cool, but is it really just as shitty for strangers to even look at your tatts without asking? What are your rules for admiring ink and having your ink be admired?
Use a bag of water to stretch out your shoes
Try filling Ziplock bags with water and inserting the entire bag (now ziplocked closed) into the shoe. Then put the shoe with said bag inside it into the freezer.
Super comfy-comfs walking shoes for daily wear
YOU GUYS. I am fucking excited about this post today. As y’all probably know, I’ve been obsessing over wedding shoes on Offbeat Bride since George Bush was in office… but a reader recently requested a post of (get this!) comfortable walking shoes. WALKING SHOES! For daily wear! This is amazing, because here’s a little secret: I can’t really walk in heels. Platforms I can handle, but despite my love of pumps, I grew up barefoot and worked at a Birkenstock store in college and seriously? I can’t walk in heels.
Caroline Rothstein on feminism and bikini waxes
…Yet here I am, month in and month out, dropping my pants for a stranger, letting her slide hot, green, organic wax along my vulva, around my labia, and across my lower abdomen with a thick, pale wooden popsicle stick just so I can feel “clean.” How can I subject a part of my body with such a complicated narrative to this hedonistic ritual and still call myself a feminist?

Somewhere around college and after, I stopped fighting my hair. I got tired of hating it. Correction: I didn’t have enough time to hate it. And my entire opinion on my hair changed.
11 fin-tastic fashion pieces inspired by sharks
Since that guy I married was attacked by a shark, we are constantly being sent shark-related products with messages like “thought of you,” or “have you seen this!?” And the answer is always “Yes!” I have seen all the shark things. So let me share with you some of my favorites when it comes to fashion…
Keep a shopping list for clothes
My lack of fashion-seeking prowess has led to a wardrobe that, while totally me, has some major holes in it. Like the hippie skirt I love, but rarely wear because it’s so hard to match the colors with my tops. Or the shirt that’s too low-cut to wear without one very specific cami, which is usually in the laundry due to its popularity. You get the idea.
This morning, while putting away laundry, I had a baskets moment about my wardrobe situation…
