Monday Moment: An ever-changing artistic display (with sexy imagary bonus)

Longtime Homie Vacantmuse sent her artsy shelf moment our way. I love her idea of making space for an ever-changing art display. Could this be the first Monday Moment “great idea of the day” combo!? I think so.

Disguising the tube: How to make an old-school TV look less ugly

In my living room I have a modern flat screen television but in my bedroom I have a little twenty-something-inch old school tube TV. I have it sitting on a vintage suitcase to raise it off the dresser to make it visible while lying in bed. That helps the aesthetic nastiness of it, but is there any other ways to make it look cooler?

How can I create a peaceful, Buddhist-inspired bedroom for my child?

I’ve been searching for Buddhist-inspired baby and/or kid’s rooms online — and I haven’t found much. Many of the rooms I’m finding are for adults, and I’m not sure how to incorporate the ideas into a kid’s room. I would love to see other people’s creative takes on creating a Buddhist (any branch of Buddhism) baby nursery. How have you created a bedroom inspired by Buddhism for your kids?

This teeny tiny home in Nanaimo makes me want to be more awesome

This little video about a tiny home made by Canada’s TwelveCubed Homes is so incredibly inspiring. Best quote? “The secret to living in such a small space is not to have too much junk.” Wise words, even for those of us living in larger spaces.

Rainbow hallway runner will make your day

Remember when Alice shared her de-beige-ified rental kitchen? Well she’s added a butt-ton of color to her hallway, too — with this awesome pants rainbow runner!

I begged her for more details on how she achieved this rainbow hallway look, and she divulged the goods!

How doing chores makes me feel empowered

This might seem paradoxical, and it probably is, but adding more chores to my daily life has actually given me the feeling I am more in control of my life. Some might call this backwards. Isn’t evolution supposed to drive towards a simplified life, with fewer and fewer chores?
