Ready to buy into the cliché of Valentine’s Day like I am? I can’t help it — pink hearts, chocolate, LOVE… I just dig it, mostly for the aesthetic alone. Whether you’ll be celebrating with a partner or maybe Galentine’s Day on the 13th (hell yeah!), I’ve got three Valentine’s Day recipes that’ll hit the sweet spot in your heart.

This loaded cookie pie is ready for whatever leftover candy you have from the holidays. Clean out your candy closet and serve it all in this big-ass, gooey cookie. This is an awesome Valentine’s Day recipe for getting rid of candy you just don’t want around tempting you.

This Valentine fruit salad with poppy seed dressing uses a cookie cutter for more than just cookies. Cut out purty little heart-shaped watermelon pieces and whatever other fruit you like. The dressing is super easy to make and make it that much more delish. Plus, this particular Valentine’s Day recipe is a little lighter than the other recipes if you’re trying to eat clean.

This s’mores mousse harks of summer with its graham crackers and marshmallows, but I like it for the cold weather, too. Chocolate is always good, I say.

  1. I do some obscene amounts of baking for various holidays. This year, I made a care package for my aunt consisting of chocolate chip cookies (I use the Nestle Tollhouse Recipe), Gingerbread Cookies (http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/gingerbread-cookies-101-recipe.html), Thumbprint cookies (http://allrecipes.com/recipe/9618/thumbprint-cookies-i/) with heart shaped thumbprints (http://notyourmommascookie.com/2012/03/joans-heart-thumbprint-cookies/), and chocolate cookies (http://allrecipes.com/recipe/25767/best-ever-chocolate-cutout-cookies/) cut into heart shapes and filled oreo-style with a whipped white chocolate ganache (sub white chocolate for the semisweet http://abc.go.com/shows/the-chew/recipes/whipped-ganache-frosting-martha-stewart). I also made truffles (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zANCn2v7Rbo), and candied ginger (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v-MFpM74SNw). My family munched on some of the extras from that, but I’m also making us some Creme Brulee Fudge (http://sweetnessandbite.com/2013/06/creme-brulee-fudge/), and I might try to make something super chocolatey for my husband, too. Not yet decided.
