Do you have a problem remembering to put your keys in one place? Perhaps if you had this safety belt buckle keychain and key holder combo, you’d get so much satisfaction hearing your keys CLICK! into place that you’d never forget again. Or what if your key holder was not only decorative but also pulled double-duty? I’ve rounded up some of the cutest, cleverest, and innovative(est?) key holders on the interwebs.
From key holders that come with key rings that look adorable and can also help keep you safe, to the creepy, and the slightly sexual. Hook yourself up with one of these holders and see if you ever forget to hang up your keys again…
I love the cloud, but I’d probably paint it some obnoxiously bright color to match the rest of my house 🙂
Ohmigoodness! Those birdhouse bird whistle keychains are amazing! On my “to get” list once I land a job.
Is the slightly sexual one you mention the “hers” one?
Mmm hmm. 😉
IKEA Bastis (BÄSTIS) Dog Cat Pet Leash Set of 6 Hooks $26 ??
These direct from IKEA cost $2.99!!!
We have the Key Pete and it can hold my massive key ring (like twenty four keys between work, home, family, vehicles, etc). Only we never found a great place to put it near the door so he just turned into a regular ol’ magnet. We did get a bunch of hooks from IKEA (like 4 bucks for 4, I think?) and a stainless steel shelf from them for mail, sunglasses, etc. Not cute but industrial (my husband’s preferred style) and cheap. Works for us, though I wish it was cuter.
Totally just bought the vampire bat one! Perfect timing…our new place has a bunch of gates, so we have lots of keys and I wasn’t finding any key holders I liked.
Slightly off-topic but our DIY hack for key holding was to repurpose an antique washstand (the kind with the towel bar) as our landing spot by the front door and ziptie S-hooks to the towel bar. All of our many sets of keys have a spot now. The washstand kind of looks like this one: http://pinterest.com/pin/527624912563924104/
I got one of those hanging wall mounted pot holders (the ornate sort with a ring to hold the pot that you screw to the wall) from the garden store. I removed the plant pot ring. Spray painted it bright orange and attached it to my bookshelf. Then into the little holes in the pattern I screwed hooks of all different sizes (also sprayed orange). Now we have a key/ sunglasses holder.
What about the DIY Zelda one? It’s on my list of projects:

It also reminds me of one of my favorite offbeat home posts (but now I’m going down a rabbit hole):
