If you found us by googling "submit a guestpost": TURN AROUND. We do NOT accept posts from SEO marketing companies or writers representing commercial websites.

First, some guidelines:

  • Advice questions should be around 100 words
  • Blog posts should be 500-1000 words
  • Photos should be at least 600-800 pixels wide
  • It's fine to submit something you wrote for another blog — we'll be sure to link to the original post!
  • You don't need to be a professional writer, but your post should have a thoughtful, specific focus and narrative structure. Be conscientious about capitalization, proofreading, spelling, etc.
  • Posts may be edited for length and tone
  • We are not able to pay for guestposts, but we will link your personal website. (TO REPEAT: WE DO NOT ACCEPT SUBMISSIONS FROM SEO FIRMS OR WRITERS REPRESENTING COMMERCIAL WEBSITES.)

Guestpost submission

  • You can use a handle or pseudonym if you'd like.
  • This will never be shared with anyone! Sometimes we need to get in direct touch with you.
  • If you use Gravatar.com, add your associated email address here. (It's likely the same as your email address above.) Then we can attach a little author image to go with your guestpost! If none of this makes any sense, you can just ignore this field. 🙂
  • Could be a blog, or just a Facebook or Twitter page.
  • Give us the elevator pitch: what's this post about?
  • If you have a photo that goes with this post, upload it below. Do NOT upload full-resolution photos, but your image must be at least 800 pixels wide. If you have additional photos, include a link to them within the body of the post (Google Drive, Dropbox, etc.).
  • Just a couple sentences about who you are. This will appear at the bottom of your post.
  • We use tags on Offbeat Home to group posts by cultures and identities, for instance LGBT, rockabilly, mid-century modern, diy, etc. If you have any tags you'd like applied to your post, let us know.
