How to pull off free-hand stenciled wall art
I have been fantasizing about creating some sort of mural or crafty art on some wall of our house, and our future baby’s room seemed to be the perfect place! I was dreaming up plans for a tree stencil on the nursery wall. After researching wall stencils, I realized I didn’t want to pay for something I could do myself. It seemed easy enough, and it was!
I need help finding fun, colorful, but shorter-than-average bar stools
I have spent the last week researching fun, colorful bar stools with backs that should be about 26″ tall, but I haven’t found one yet! 26″ would be the ideal height to be able to fit our legs under the table, but most bar stools are taller. Do you have any ideas or awesome finds to share?
Water your house plants with bathwater
My son takes a bath every night. Last night, as the tub was draining and I was thinking over my chores I needed to execute that evening (because that’s how I treat my chores: EXECUTION!) I realized that I could kill two birds with one stone and use the lukewarm bathwater to water the houseplants.
Ever thought about what it’d be like to live on a boat?

How I learned to stop worrying and love the domestic arts
I am a shit housekeeper. My culinary background is in microwave dinners and take-out. I didn’t think anything of it until it came time to move in with my now husband. We moved into a lovely house (check), I bought some lovely lipstick (check), I found a strand of pearls at a garage sale (check). So why the hell is the laundry always in a pile, the dishes never done, the floor all dirty and most of the things I cook are gross, mushy approximations of food?
Renter-friendly and budget-friendly window privacy
I went to the home improvement store and found semi-transparent adhesive window films, but they cost $20 per window! With three windows to cover, I knew I’d need to find a cheaper option. In fact, I found a way to do it with just stuff I already had so the whole project was FREE! Here’s how to put it up AND take it down.
Upside down boat makes an amazing retreat
Sometimes I go virtually traveling the world, via Airbnb. This is part me getting future vacation ideas and part lusting after amazing properties around the world. And every now and then something like this upside down boat-turned vacation rental pops into my browser, and I think: I MUST SHOW MY HOMIES!
