I have officially lost all of my reusable water bottles. I wanna buy something with personality — glass, plastic, metal, whatevs — I want it to be cute and fun. Thoughts on where online I should look?
Luckily I have OPINIONS on reusable water bottles. They have to be BPA-Free, have personality, and be easy to drink from. Some of these are water bottles I own, have owned, or want to own…
Your turn! What are your favorite reusable water bottles with personality?
I have a LifeFactory bottle, which looks a lot like the Ello. I love how the water always tastes pure and whenever I drop it (I’m fucking clumsy) it is protected by the silicone sleeve. They are a bit heavier, but it’s worth it. Also: it goes into the dishwasher. *swoon*
I had this same dilemma. I actually didn’t have a water bottle for about a year because I just couldn’t find any I liked! Fortunately, I live in Seattle now so I have access to Liberty Bottleworks! I have a gorgeous water bottle from my favorite local bakery designed by them, but you can also pick up some of their designs on Amazon. They’re a really amazing company committed to some great values. The bottles aren’t dishwasher safe, but I think that’s a small price to pay, personally.
Oooooh, LOVE those!
My husband I love our Liberty bottles. You can also order directly from their website and have lots of cap options.
And they have awesome kids sized bottles! I was just talking about trying to find big kid replacements for my daughter’s sippy cups last night
I’m visiting Seattle now! 🙂 I’m curious, what is your favorite local bakery that you were able to pick one up at? Thanks!
I was just thinking about how my S’well bottle (sorry no time to find link) has changed my life. It’s metal (hate hate hate drinking out of plastic), lighter than glass, has a lovely rough coating, pleasant to drink from, comes in a beautiful marble pattern… I could go on and on.
Love my swell too! Keeps cold or hot just as well. And water just tastes so much better from a metal bottle! Also, really hard to break. I had another no brand metal bottle before the swell (which is why I felt ok splurging on the so when it was time to replace) we’ll that old bottle took quite a few falls on hard pavement, once from the top of amoving vehicle… I’m sure the swell will hold up just a well, but look prettier doing it!
They may not be super sexy, but Kleen Kanteen bottles are SO good, esp. the double-walled version. Put a few ice cubes in, & the water will stay cold for hours, days, no matter what the outside temperature is. Amazing!
Yes! I came down to say how awesome the insulated Kleen Kanteen is. No cool designs, but they come in a variety of colors. I dig the plain old brushed stainless steel myself. My husband uses his for coffee, and (if there’s any left) it’s still hot well into the afternoon.
I received my Kleen Kanteen bottle at least 8 years ago from a disabled neighbor who gave it to me as a ‘thank you’ for helping him take out his trash. He said that he kept getting them in the mail and he wouldn’t use a pink one – it was slated for the trash but it has become one of my favorite water bottles!
For drinking at home I use an old absolut vodka bottle. They have some very pretty designs.
I use a Waiwera bottle because it looked so nice. Bought the bottle of water 3 years ago in Maui, I’ve continued to use it ever since.
I supply teach, so a water bottle is a must for me. I kept losing kleen kanteens and other similar designs, so I had a bottle photo-printed with a pic of my daughter on it. Now it’s impossible for me to lose the bottle, and the photo often acts as an ice-breaker when meeting new students and teachers!
personally, I would be wary of anything plastic, even if it says BPA free. there’s studies out there that have proven that most chemicals in plastic leach endocrine disrupting hormones, including plastic that is BPA free. I wouldn’t take the chance. (oh and these studies i reference are from scientific, peer-reviewed literature, I just did a research paper on this for school.) It made me think as well about storing or buying food in plastic. Stick to glass, ceramic, or metal. I <3 my insulated kleen kanteen so hard. 🙂
My husband and I got Soulbottles on the December holiday. They are glass, have a nice handle, and the gasket is made out of natural rubber, which I prefer over Silicone. https://www.soulbottles.com/
We love them.
They’re not as pretty as the ones you’ve posted, but the FlyLady bottles don’t sweat, keep water super cold (ice takes ages to melt, even if left in a hot place) & the double cap makes it easy to get ice in. http://shop.flylady.net/pages/FlyShop_swb.asp
Well, I absolutely definitely need the SKYE one, seeing as it’s my name. This is so happening.
I prefer stainless steel, myself! I’m a huge butterfingers…won’t these glass bottles shatter if they’re dropped? I wouldn’t trust such thin-looking silicon sleeves to absorb the impact, but I could just be paranoid, haha. Thanks for this post, I’m overdue for a new water bottle…
I have one of the Ello bottles that I’ve had for about 3 years. The silicone sleeve is thicker than it looks in the pictures, and is actually thicker around the corners/bottom. Mine also has a silicone flip top that is very fun to use! And it all goes right in the dishwasher.
My go-to are the SIGG bottles on Zazzle… solid aluminum construction, and thousands of design – most customizable – to choose from.
I have a small Sigg bottle on my desk at work, a big one for dance class, and a plastic Brita bottle for travel. I want to get a smaller Brita to keep in my purse this summer (when I bought my first one, they only offered solid colors, but now have all sorts of patterned designs). While I know plastic is not ideal,I absolutely love the built-in filter for when I might only have access to tap water, and a lot of venues don’t let you bring in metal or glass bottles.
My new water bottle isn’t much to look at, but it has a ton going on.
It’s the Nikken PiMag sports bottle. It has a crazy filter in it that filters out 99% of the chlorine in water, and it slightly alkalizes it as well. The bottle itself is made out of a biodegradable totally safe polymer that looks like plastic but will break down in a compost pile.
The water tastes like nothing at all, according to my husband, and that’s the greatest part.
