My large dog has always had an elevated bowl, since he was too tall to eat directly off the floor. But as my smaller dog ages, it became clear to me that it was getting harder for her to bend down and eat her food. So I went shopping for an elevated dog bowl, that wasn’t part of a set (the water is in a different area) that also fit in to my home decor.

Do your pups use raised feeders? Which kind do you recommend?
These are fantastic! I especially like the look of the dogit dish.
I’ve been thinking about getting elevated dishes for my aging cat, but most of these seem too tall or too deep. Did you happen to spot any cat versions of these during your internet trawling?

We bought these for our two cats, and they’re great: PetFusion Elevated Pet Feeder in Premium Non Corrosion Aluminum
It felt ridiculous to spend that much on cat dishes at the time (they’re actually cheaper now, dang it), but it was worth it. Looks way better than mismatched plastic bowls, there’s no pink slime in the water dishes, and no more spilled water!
We raise our dogs’ bowls but we aren’t fancy about it. One of the bowls is on a raised platform in our living room (where a wood burning stove used to be). The other is across the way (food aggression by my older dog requires that we feed them separately) and I just use an Amazon shipping box. It’s not fancy or pretty but it does the job. I’d like something nicer but the last time I changed out the box, my dog was super suspicious and wouldn’t eat because it was different. She can be pretty neurotic.
We have an extra large, extra tall, standard poodle named Ringo. He’s about twice the size of our previous poodle Layla, so her old elevated dishes didn’t work for his size. The solution: the bowls and surrounding tray from the old set rested upon an old computer tower.
I’ve used the plastic-and-silicone raised travel dog bowl sets from Dexas Popware for Pets for my girl her whole life. They’re not perfect, but the bowls pop out for cleaning and the bowls and stand can be put in the dishwasher if they fit. Since it all folds flat for travel, she always has the same dishes everywhere we are, along with her same crate. She’s the best traveller!
These are awesome! If my dogs would actually eat out of bowls, I might get a couple. They like more shallow dishes, so I use glass pie pans for them now. I took the cheap (and less stylish) way out, and put their dishes on one of those wire plate shelves that are for making more space in your cabinets. (Like this: Jumbo Kitchen Helper Shelf. But I think I got mine at Walmart.) Works perfectly, and everything is easy to clean. Although, not nearly as pretty as the ones Megan found.
