SEATTLE EVENT: Witches, Sluts, Feminists on November 16, 2017 #Home#books#Seattle Updated Nov 16 2017 (Posted Nov 3 2017) Ariel arielmstallings Related Post What Love Is: My review of Carrie Jenkins' book (+bonus story about mutual fangirling!) I've mentioned it several times here, but I finally need to write my official review of Carrie Jenkins' What Is Love: And What Could It... Read more Remember this summer when I hosted an event with a fellow author here in Seattle at Ada's Technical Books? (The world headquarters of the Offbeat Empire happens to be right behind Ada's, which is an amazing nerdy bookstore and cafe, so it was a pretty natural fit.) Well, that was so much fun (you can watch it here) that I decided I want to do it as an ongoing thing… sorta Offbeat Ada's, if you will? For the second event in the series, I'm hosting a discussion with Kristen Sollee, founder of Slutist and the author of Witches, Sluts, Feminists: Conjuring the Sex Positive. I knew from the second I saw the cover of this book that I needed to have it (the cover is basically the seo keywords of my life these days), and then when I contacted Kristen to talk to her about it… it turned out we'd featured her fucking wedding on Offbeat Bride back in the day! Sometimes it feels like Offbeat Bride is like Kevin Bacon for weird married people — you're odd and have planned a wedding, we're probably connected somehow. So I invited Kristen to get her ass on over to Seattle so that we could do a witchy, slutty, feminist thing together… and here we go! WHEN Thursday, November 16th 2017 from 7 PM – 9 PM Doors at 6pm if you want to come have a drink with me and Kristen! WHERE The Lab at Ada's Technical Books 425 15th Ave E, Seattle, Washington 98112 WHAT WE'LL BE TALKING ABOUT: Female power in all its dangers and delights, the history of sexual liberation, pop occulture, reproductive rights, sexual pleasure, queer identity, pornography, sex work, weddings, and more. You know, just the important stuff. Here's the Facebook event, if you're into that kind of thing. TICKETS: $5 (includes a drink!) …or $22 if you want to snag a signed copy of Kristen's iconic book in addition to your drink! Or free if you don't want a drink and you just show up the day of… but you risk the event being sold out, which it likely will because the capacity at The Lab is less than 40 people. You'll want to snag your tickets soon. [UPDATE 11/14/2017: SOLD OUT!!!] Get tickets! Reporter Name * Reporter Email * Original text Enter the original text here. See you there – Reply I was so excited to finally meet you! I hope you are feeling better. I'm part way through the book right now and it is definitely worth a read. It was pretty cool to see the author in person. I am surprised and excited to learn that the Offbeat empire is mere blocks from where I live. I look forward to future events at Ada's!
