Easy desserts are my favorite kind. And whipped cream recipes? The easiest of them all! Whether you’re just scooping some whipped topping from a tub or whipping up some homemade whipping cream, it’s all creamy, dreamy deliciousness.

Here are three recipes that use whipped cream in awesome ways: on top of fruit, mixed into a mousse, and folded into a cheesecake-like monstrosity of yum. Let’s talk whipped cream recipes and three ways to whip it, whip it good.

Espresso ricotta chocolate mousse

My love affair with ricotta AND whipped cream continues with this espresso ricotta chocolate mousse. It’s reminiscent of tiramisu, and infinitely nommable as-is or used a filling in pies and cakes.

Oreo mousse

This Oreo mousse is a reverse Oreo mousse-type of dealie that would flip the chocolate to the inside and provide a cheesecake-y, creamy base for dipping and scooping. It’s Oreo meets vanilla cream mousse. Mmmm.

  1. Lemonade Pie!

My mom used to make this when I was growing up, and it was one of the first desserts I learned to make when I had my own kitchen. People are always super impressed by it, and it’s the easiest thing in the world to make, with literally only 4 ingredients and like 5 minutes of prep. Great for when you’re gonna have some friends over for dinner and you want to make a dessert, but it’s summer and you don’t want to turn on the oven.

  2. I LOVE WHIPPED CREAM. Especially with berries…NOM nom! For a vegan version, whipped coconut creme is super delish.

PSA: I would avoid most ‘whipped toppings’ at all costs. They are usually made with partially hydrogenated oil of some sort = TERRIBLE for your health and will slowly kill you.

  3. I like fruit mousses. Just mix a pack of gelatin(or agar agar) into a cup of juice and then slowly stir into already whipped cream and refrigerate till it’s set. Orange and blackberry are my favorites so far. I usually garnish with some of the fruit too

  4. Fold some lemon curd into the whipped cream and then layer with macerated berries and cubed pound cake for an amazing summer trifle. This really needs real whipped cream though, whipped topping doesn’t have the substance.

Also, Trader Joe’s carries a shelf-stable whipping cream that’s really handy when you need whipped cream but don’t have anything on hand.
