What Master of None shows about how far we’ve come with comedy

I’ve beenwatching the new season of Master of None starring Aziz Ansari and a slew of other talented actors of color. It’s amazing and I’ve been really enjoying it. But what struck me with the comparison between these shows was how much comedy has changed since the age of streaming. While switching between a show like the 1990s mega hit sitcom Friends and the far more lucid dialogue of Master of None gave me some perspective on how much has changed.

“Speechless” is a show about someone with a disability… and it’s not completely fucking that up!

As a mom of a child with Down syndrome, I’m always looking for something new and good that relates to our family on TV. As a deaf mom who has long been a disability rights activist, I’ve found that to be pretty damn hard to find.

Speechless” is a new TV show that seems to fit the bill. It’s amazing to see the first TV show in which the central character has a disability, and all of the story lines flow around him!
