Buying appliances can be HARD. It SUCKED the last time I did it, shopping for a washer/dryer. It took a long-ass time to compare prices, features, and reviews — let alone making sure the thing would fit in our space and setting up a delivery/installation time. And the worst part: color choices across the board were limited to white, steel, and black. YAWN.

So I was impressed with new sponsor Appliances Online, because they have an easy to use website with lots of focus on best prices and easy order fulfillment. They can fill just about any appliance need you might have — washers and dryers, ovens and stoves — even stand-alone pieces like range cookers and hobs! Appliances Online carries more than 4000 items and 30 different brands, so they also manage to hit more unusual colors and even patterns.

I'm particularly loving the New World line of machines. They're sleek, highly functional, and might be the only ovens available in purple.

I installed this door over our laundry room after we dumpster-dove it, so I wasn't surprised that a panel popped out before long. I took this fixit project as an opportunity to make the whole shebang a lot prettier.

I sorted and sorted through Flickr and found all these houses — SO MANY HOUSES — of a different color. And, surprisingly, so many really mean comments. I had to give these houses their time in the sun.

When we moved in, the bathroom walls were pure white. Now, they're pink, yellow, blue, and green — and they tell the world we're science nerds.
