Let's tour this funky LA house with the rainbow fireplace #Homes & Tours#colorful#fireplaces#Los Angeles#rainbow#real estate January 11 | Megan Finley Horowitz meggyfin The outside is only a HINT of the wackiness contained inside of this home. Every now and then, when I'm doing my "unique Los Angeles real estate" searches on Redfin, I stumble upon some vintage amazingness, or some awesome design inspiration. Then, every once in a while, I stumble upon something I can't even define. Today's WTF-ery in real estate, is this house which real estate agents are describing as "wonderfully quirky and unique home." And here's how it's described in the listing: First time on the market in decades. This spacious three bedroom three bathroom home features a massive architectural skylight and large open loft-style living room with fireplace. The kitchen opens to a large dining/ family room which leads to a large deck and pool area. This is a superb opportunity located in one of Hollywood Hills best neighborhoods. Bring your imagination. Hmmm… surprisingly no mention of the RAINBOW FIREPLACE! If you were to ask me, I'd totally describe this place as "the funky house with the rainbow fireplace." And the outside is just a hint of the funkiness contained within. Let's peek shall we… I think that's the front door down there. And you have to go up flight of the stairs to get the main living spaces. To one side of that staircase is this funky room. I think you're the living room? I literally have no idea what that red thing on the top right is. But I'm digging the random brass bars running across the room. But I do know that is one super-cool skylight! Let's head over to the other side of the house to… THE RAINBOW FIREPLACE ROOM! With the strangest couch — where the hell did they find this, and can I shop there too? I just needed one more good look at that sweet sweet fireplace. I shit you not, I think this circular window is in the same room as the rainbow fireplace. Bitchin'. And now we're going to make a super-quick transition into a fairly normal (for this house) looking kitchen. There's an "open concept" situation going on here, with an attached dining room… …which I'm actually TOTALLY DIGGING! Love that rug and table and (non-rainbow) fireplace combo. Here's a peak at the backyard that looks like a vacation rental in Cabo San Lucas. …And this super-weird tree for some reason. What did I tell you! This was random real estate gold — er — rainbows I tells ya! If you'd like to purchase this property, you'll just have to drop $1.6 million dollars and if you touch that damn rainbow fireplace there will be HELL to pay. Join our community! What else would you hang in this living room? 5 agree Reply It also made me think of the bat-man/creature in the Neverending Story…. cool thing to have on the wall! 1 agrees Reply OH YEAH! It's totally that bat guy for Neverending Story! 😉 1 agrees Reply It's like a spaceship owned by hippies, I like it. 10 agree Reply Yes! This. 1 agrees Reply If I win the Powerball game I'm buying this. 8 agree Reply $1.5 mil. Ouch. Those skylights, and windows, and atrium are so dreamy though. I'd love to have that space. 3 agree Reply The brightness of those rooms kind of hurt my eyes … in the absolute best eye hurting way! 3 agree Reply Omg, I want to know more about that circular window! It looks like it's walk-though-able? and open-able?? 1 agrees Reply I don't know! It's just all "hey, here's some Hobbit Hole window action… NO EXPLANATION. Dah fuk!? 1 agrees Reply The window is over the garage. You could step out, but then you'd have a Wile E Coyote type fall lol 1 agrees Reply Hey, that's cheaper than all the housing in the bay area! I want that! I wish. 2 agree Reply While there are some surfaces I begrudgingly admit I'd have to paint over, this lil' cutie is so dang dreamy. I just hope its future owners are like "No, we must commit to the aesthetic. We are now technicolor pirates." 17 agree Reply I am already imagining a steampunk decor for the room with the cool skylight. Reply Suddenly I could really use 1.6 million dollars..
