Before and after.
Before and after.

Ever since I talked about how octopodes make great towel holders, I’ve been wanting to see more tentacles in your bathrooms. Well, Homie Sara came through by uploading photos of her awesome octopus-themed bathroom makeover to our Flickr pool.

Who hasn’t seen or lived with a bathroom that looks just like your typical rental — beige walls, faux-wood vanities, standard drawer pulls? With a coat of paint, Sara took this from bland and dreary, to bold and tentacle-y.

Screen shot 2013-04-23 at 11.45.03 AMSara sanded and painted the cabinets, and all the walls, white. Then she added orange accouterments like the pulls and the jars.

After: White cabinets and orange accoutermentsEven her cotton swabs (ugh, I want those) and hand soap are orange!

After: Octopus! But the best part, of course, is the giant orange octopus vinyl decal. (Psst: Amazon has a butt-load of different octopus vinyl wall decals.)

After: Bright white walls and orange accoutermentsShe then finished off the look with a set of bright beach-y art pieces and adorable orange lanterns behind the toilet.

Combining my favorite color orange and tentacles… way to design my favorite bathroom ever, Sara!

Comments on Before and after bathroom: Orange octopus-style

  1. I love all the orange accents, they really pop against the white! A good way to add some colour without scaring the landlord.

Our bathroom is super boring at the moment and is painted a cold colour. I want to paint it yellow and hang up my Van Gogh sunflowers print to cheer it up.
