Make a no-drip DIY watering can from a milk jug

Posted by

Astra from A Journey to a Dream used this little trick to reuse a milk jug as a no-drip watering can.

What you’ll need:

  • A lighter or matches
  • Needles
  • An empty, cleaned out milk jug

Heat the end of the needle and poke it through the lid of the jug multiple times. You can vary the pressure of the water by using different sizes of needles.

Watch your fingers! You can heat the needle again to remove any remaining plastic residue. Head over to A Journey to a Dream for more photos.

  1. For this to really work, you also need to poke a small hole in the top of the jug somewhere, like the handle, so that as the water pours out, air can get in and balance the pressure.
