Kat Von D shows off the handmade Etsy finds in her goth/steampunk home

Posted by

I’m a huge fan of Kat Von D, but love her or hate her, I think we can all agree her house is awesome. She posted this short tour of the weird and wonderful pieces in her home — all handmade by Etsy shop owners and her artist friends — and the objects are rad as hell.

An acoustic phonograph iPod dock; tiny terrariums in lightbulbs; the “antique” keyboard… all among Kat’s goth/Victorian/steampunk decor (the dining room set — oh my godddd). William Morris said: “Have nothing in your houses that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful,” and Kat seems to agree.

She’s included a list of links for you so you can bogart her style. Oh, and speaking of her style: don’t miss her tour of her gorgeous dressing room and drool-worthy shoe closet!

  1. “I don’t even knw what this button does but it’s got a skull on it, which s good and important”

I’m not a fan of Kat Von D. But I am a HUGE FAN of her SIC WICKED NUTS AWESOME DEADLY HOUSE!!!!!

  2. The mention of William Morris made me feel all warm and squishy inside. All good things come from this man. He is the savior of functional art/ decor- so check him out (AND the philosophy of the arts & crafts movement) – love me, resident art history geek

  3. I’m a huge fan of Victorian/Steampunk decor and clothing. So many fun things in her house and I love that she’s a patron of Etsy! Like so many here, I would LOVE to have that doorbell!
Kat, I watched your other video on your closet and would love to invite you to visit my etsy shop “The Victorian Flower Child” at Rabbits Run Interiors. I have lots of vintage clothing and accessories as well as upcycled clothing and housewares.
Thanks for allowing us into your incredible home. Blessings!
