Relationships

Let’s talk about our partners, and how we negotiate sharing our homes and lives with them.

No you did not “turn me,” and other misconceptions about me being bisexual

I’ve noticed over the years that certain trends appear when I’m dating, at least when dating men. Here are the top five misconceptions about my bisexuality, that I feel I have to address…

How do you forgive and forget?

How do you let go of the animosity or even hatred you feel toward a person who hurt you? What are some suggestions for forgiving people who have hurt you so you can move on with your life and feel more like a responsible adult and less like a petulant teenager with a grudge?

How do you reconcile your tattoo needs with those of your partners?

In the span of our relationship, I have developed moderate myalgic encephalomyelitis. I’ve also been clinically depressed since I was about 15. Between the two of those things, there are a LOT of days when it seems easier to give up than keep going. And that’s where the “inspirational tattoo” would come in. When I told my husband what I was thinking, he was clearly swallowing a lot of objections…

How do you get your sexy photos back?

Let’s see what Disney characters can teach us about healthy multi-partner relationships…

Tattoos, photo shoots, and lessons learned since my marriage ended

It was such an exciting time in my life, getting engaged, planning my amazing offbeat wedding and enjoying the day. Then I was thrown a curveball a year and three months after our wedding date… My husband came home and told me he wanted a divorce. The thing is, I have learned so many valuable lessons from this experience, ones that I would not have had the opportunity to learn if life had not unfolded this way.

My husband and I are “in the closet” about my polyamory

To the world, we’re your typical interracial, interfaith, heterosexual, monogamous couple skipping through the grassy hills. In reality, I date and maintain intimate relationships with 1-2 men besides my husband.

How can I support my long distance best friend?

One of my best friends has been going through a tough time for a while now. She also happens to live over 200 miles away. How can I be a good, supportive long-distance friend at a time like this, when popping in to help for an evening isn’t possible?
