April Fool’s day went from my most-loathed holiday (Valentine’s Day is a close second) to one of my favorite days of the year. That’s all because of Think Geek. Every year those wonderful nerds come up with creative, imaginary products that make you go “OMG TAKE ALL MY MONIEZ!”
The best part is that sometimes the public outcry of “take all my money” is so strong that those imaginary products actually get made! Remember the Star Wars Tauntaun Sleeping Bag? That started as a Think Geek April Fools joke.
So let’s all go see what Think Geek is up to today. Then let me know which product you hope they make real.
Also… what are YOUR favorite April Fool’s Day traditions or pranks?

Edited to add: forwarded to my friend, she got really excited, didn’t realize it was April Fools, and when I crushed her dreams, quote: “Why wouldn’t that be real???? Why are you ruining my life???”
Oh no!!! Did you tell her that some things actually become real!?
She had already forwarded it to her husband and I said, “No worries, your husband will try to build one anyway,” which she acknowledged was true.

So I definitely voted to bring Game of Thrones Clue into being. I’m not even a huge fan of the series, but I am just genuinely intrigued by how that would work. I assume every game would take 40 hours and end in tears. Just like the show.

And to think I’ve been strongly disliking April Fool’s Day for so long… Mind changed by Megan. Again.
I was all “why haven’t I shared this with my peeps earlier?” And then I realized, it was one of those things I assumed everyone knew about. Then I was all “okay, even if they already know, we can talk about it here. And if they don’t know, they’re going to be so stoked!!!” Because April Fools can be one helluva day, THIS is the key to making this day not suck. 😉

I’m pretty certain that when my hubby finally starts home brewing ‘Groot Beer’ will be a reality. I’m thinking there would be some honey in there, but since he’s a tree probably some really piney, resiny hops would be good.
He’ll share with the rest of the class, right?
I really enjoy the internet in general on April Fools Day. Fortunately nobody of my close acquaintance does much in the way of pranking, so it’s mostly a day of internet hilarity for me — although it does make me super-skeptical of any announcements / news items that happen on this day… My favourite piece this year: “CERN researchers confirm existence of the Force”.

That reminds me of when Mitch Hedberg died and everyone on the internet thought it was an April Fool’s joke… I’d like to think he would have appreciated that, though, haha.
Last year’s Batman family decals (Batman, two gravestones) is the one I want. I am surprised they haven’t made it real, it would be so easy and I’m sure it would be a great seller. I NEED it.
