A DJ Bunny-DILF, or “DJBDILF”

this bunny loves his carrot!

My Husband is Such. A. Great. Daddy.

He had no previous experience with kids — no little siblings he helped raise, no nephews or nieces, nothing like that. But he tells me he has known since he was a little boy that when he grew up, he wanted to get married and be a daddy. He had dreams of coming home to shouts of “Daddy’s Home!” and giving piggy back rides, and attending tea parties in knee-high chairs, and making model rockets.

When my daughter was 5 months old, I was looking on Craigslist for a job that would take me away from her for at least 5 hours a day, and when I cried and said I couldn’t do it, I couldn’t leave my baby, without a second of hesitation, he said, “Ok. Stay home.” He never complains about being the sole breadwinner. He frequently thanks me for being a good mom. Did I win the Husband lottery or what?

He has been waiting a lifetime to give this piggyback ride

So here he is, living his ideal life. Spinning funky breakbeat on the weekends when possible, but spending most of his time chasing our toddler around the house, letting her climb him like a mountain, taking naps with her and letting her smear refried beans into his glasses. Look at his grin — he couldn’t be happier, and neither could I. Just thinking about it makes me want to get pregnant again!

  1. aw this really made me tear up! Griff is a LOT like Joe in that he supports me as a mother 100%, even if that means we don’t have as much money in the bank. He loves our family and doing whatever to support us. HOW DID WE GET SO LUCKY?….

    ….and Joe’s smile is AWESOME!
