How I created Christmas, Whovian-style

Whovian Christmas treeWhat do you do if you’ve got a ton of Doctor Who knickknacks, a bare Christmas tree, and a cat named Pandora? You create the ultimate Doctor Who cat toy! (This little corner of heaven is where Pandora is spending most of the month of December.)

Here’s how I created my Whovian Christmas decor…

I started with a binary blanket (Think Geek used to sell them) wrapped around the base of a small tree. Pandora sez: I’m just going to take a quick look.
I adorned it with all my Whovian knickknacks like action figures, like the Cyberman, Vashta Nerada, and an Ood.

Then I added a Jelly Baby paper chain.

And, of course, a very long scarf.

The tree is topped with a Weeping Angel.

And K-9 is nestled underneath the tree.

There's also a special visitor in the Nativity Scene… You never know who will show up for an important occasion

So, what fun/nerdy/offbeat theme did you decorate with this Christmas?

Comments on How I created Christmas, Whovian-style

  1. I have a nightmare before Christmas decorated tree (with a Christmas Elmo on top, just because)
And I converted a Nightmare snuggie into a tree skirt and 3 stockings

  2. I love it, truly I do!

But there is absolutely no way a weeping angel would enter my house, much less find itself perched atop my tree. Why don’t we just add some children in gas masks and make it the Christmas tree of my nightmares? 😉 I am always amazed at the power of Doctor Who to make me totally flip out.

    Awesome work!

    • We have an awesome Bast statue that my husband picked up in Egypt when he used to travel for business there all the time.
After we watched that episode, we were creeped out by that statue, because its a similar style as the Weeping Angels are in the show. Supermega heebie-jeebies: ACTIVATE!
