Darth Vader and son: a new book about that special father-son relationship

Posted by

Cartoonist Jeffrey Brown has released a new book called Darth Vader and Son that’s going to melt the hearts of Star Wars fans everywhere:

In this hilarious and sweet comic reimagining, Darth Vader is a dad like any other — except with all the baggage of being the Dark Lord of the Sith. Celebrated artist Jeffrey Brown’s delightful illustrations give classic Star Wars® moments a fresh twist, presenting the trials and joys of parenting through the lens of a galaxy far, far away. Life lessons include lightsaber batting practice, using the Force to raid the cookie jar, Take Your Child to Work Day on the Death Star (“Er, he looks just like you, Lord Vader!”), and the special bond shared between any father and son.

  1. Agreed, this is adorable, though I can’t help but sigh at the SW universe’s consistant disragad for Leia as part of the family. She’s always getting short changed.

    • While I am absolutely going to buy a copy for my husband’s stocking this Christmas, I totally agree. I hope they do a follow up for Leia. The Darth Vadar tea party scene pretty much writes itself, and I’d love to get this for my dad.

      • Jeffrey Brown’s work is largely autobiographocal and he has a young son so I’m pretty sure this book is specific to his life and thus, no Leia.

That said, I’d love to see a Vader & Daughter book as well! Fingers crossed he has a daughter someday? 😉
